 A walk down Abbot Street’s active sidewalks is a house watcher’s dream with public parks accessible every couple blocks. Kelowna South Shops and Restaurants

In the southern region of Kelowna South is the Pandosy “Village by the Lake” just passed Wardlaw Avenue on Pandosy Street. The Pandosy area was named after Father Charles Pandosy who in 1859 set a “Mission” in the Okanagan to begin Kelowna’s first European settlement.  In his honour, Kelowna built the Father Pandosy Mission attraction on Benvoulin Road with fantastic log structures popular for wedding photos. The village itself is full of small businesses, restaurants, and social pubs to provide locals with a small-town feeling with many active walkers shopping from store to store. Only a short walk passed KLO Road, residents can enjoy brand-named stores like Save on Foods and Urban Fare, as well as many diverse restaurants and banks for meals and errands all easily accessible through Lakeshore Road.

At the east end of Kelowna South off Gordon Drive is the Capri Centre for all local shopping needs. Retail stores include Independent Grocer, Goodlife Fitness, Urban General, as well as many restaurants, coffee shops, and local services like dental, hair, and finance. The Capri Centre also provides Capri Valley Lanes for bowling with friends, and government services like Canada Post and Passport Service.

Kelowna South Neighbourhood Schools

Kids living in Kelowna South will attend either A.S. Matheson Elementary on Gordon Drive or Raymer Elementary on Raymer Avenue. Each school creates a safe and inclusive environment with A.S. Matheson having its preschool and out-of-school care programs and Raymer Elementary with their Learning in Depth program for grade 3 students.

Older kids in Kelowna South will attend KLO Middle School on KLO Road. As the only French Immersion school for all grades 7-9 in the district, KLO Middle prides itself in their commitment to student learning and undertaking activities in their CORE block that explores Career Education and Character Strong programs.

High school students will attend Kelowna Secondary School off Raymer Avenue. This 10-12 French Immersion school for nearly 2,000 students will give students some of the best education in the city as the 71st ranked secondary school in the province by the Fraser Institute. The respectful and safe environment allows a vast array of clubs and sports for students finishing their education.

Adjacent to the high school is Okanagan College campus that provides high quality business and trades programs as well as studies in sciences, arts, education, health, and more.
