In the centre of the neighbourhood is McKinley Landing Park with a playground just next-door to the fire hall that is also used as a community center. For shopping needs, downtown and the city centre are about a 20 minute drive along Glenmore Road or via Sexsmith Road to Reid’s Corner.

McKinley Landing Schools

Kids living in McKinley Landing will attend North Glenmore Elementary School on Union Road. Opened in 1964 as a two-room school, North Glenmore has grown to teach nearly 500 students with a focus on cultivating a culture of kindness and welcoming. School buses will pass into the McKinley neighbourhood to get kids to school on time.

Older kids will join North Kelowna and Glenmore students at Dr. Knox Middle School on Drysdale Boulevard. Named after the horse-riding medical doctor William Knox, Dr. Knox Middle provides grade 7 students with French Immersion education and creating a positive school spirit of belonging and connectedness. 

High school students will attend Kelowna Secondary School in South Kelowna. This 10-12 French Immersion school for nearly 2,000 students will give students some of the best education in the city as the 71st ranked secondary school in the province by the Fraser Institute. The respectful and safe environment allows a vast array of clubs and sports for students finishing their education.
