Rutland Schools

Kids living in Rutland’s northern half will attend Pearson Elementary or Rutland Elementary, with Pearson’s smaller student body celebrating its diverse demographic and adoption of a Uniform Policy for its inclusive environment. Rutland Elementary has a rich history in the region with the red brick school being built in 1913 that served students until the current building was completed on Webster Road in 2003. Rutland’s southern region has four elementary schools for easy walks or bike rides for all kids, including a K-6 French Immersion program at Belgo Elementary on Adventure Road.

Older kids throughout the Rutland area will attend Rutland Middle School on Rutland Road with its rich history reaching back to its opening in 1949. The union of all six Rutland elementary schools will create more opportunities for kids to grow friendships and receive new learning experiences.

On the same block, Rutland teenagers will attend Rutland Senior Secondary School, the only Kelowna secondary school that ranges from grades 9-12. RSS welcomes over 1,500 students from across Kelowna’s diverse east side with school and public transit allowing kids outside the area to arrive on time each day. RSS also includes a partnership with BCIT with duel credit programs and an Advanced Placement program for students wanting a lead on their postsecondary education.
