Glenrosa homes for sale

Glenrosa is charismatic community located just outside of Westbank.  It is the last community in West Kelowna before heading south to Peachland. The neighbourhoods tend to be more mature and offer larger yards than many other neighbourhoods.  It is a five minute drive to downtown Westbank and ten minute drive to downtown Peachland.

Glenrosa is an affordable community, just outside of Westbank.  It has an abundance of walking, hiking and biking trails. Plus, only a ten minute drive away is Telemark Nordic club, a 1364 hectare winter wonderland with 50 kilometers of groomed trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. You can enjoy a nighttime ski session with friends and family on the well-lit trails, then afterwards, warm up in the lodge with a hot cup of cocoa.

Houses for sale in Glenrosa

If you’re in search of a neighbourhood with expansive lots and simplistic landscaping, Glenrosa could be your new “home sweet home”.  Not at all lacking uniqueness, Glenrosa homes are nestled in the hills that eventually lead to backcountry terrain.  Outdoor enthusiasts cannot get enough of this tucked away community.  The Okanagan Boys and Girls Club also runs popular programs out of the Webber Road Community Centre which happens to be located in lower Glenrosa.  A fantastic choice for young families!

Glenrosa Neighbourhood Schools

The Westside has seven elementary schools, two of them being located right in Glenrosa.  You’ll find Helen Gorman Elementary closest to the top of Glenrosa, and the second school, Glenrosa Elementary, is located in a more mature part of Glenrosa, close to Webber Road.  There are two middle schools in West Kelowna, one is located centrally in Glenrosa named Glenrosa Middle School, and the other middle school is called Constable Neil Bruce, which is located deeper into West Kelowna.  There is one bustling high school named Mount Boucherie Secondary, located at the base of Mount Boucherie Mountain – which is also an excellent place to hike.  Westbank does not have a college or university; however, it is a quick thirty kilometers to the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus, and an even closer drive to the Okanagan College campus.

Regional Parks

West Kelowna offers some of the most beautiful regional parks in the Okanagan Valley and delivers recreational activities and experiences for everyone to appreciate.

Glen Canyon

Glen Canyon is a 74 hectare Regional Park located between Hwy 97 and Gellatly Road. Glen Canyon is nature at its finest and has been left in its natural state, showcasing the various ecosystems of the Okanagan.  A hike through the park is a sensory stimulating experience, breathing in fresh aromas of the surrounding foliage, spotting local wildlife and taking in the naturistic sounds of Powers Creek, it is truly a tranquil experience.

Kalmoir Beach

Kalmoir Beach is a 27.6 hectare Regional Park nestled along the south shoreline of Okanagan Lake. Kalmoir offers many trails for hikers of all experience levels. Take one of the trails up to the top of the mountain, the steep incline and rocky terrain is well worth the astonishing views of downtown Kelowna and the Okanagan valley. One of easier trails hugs the expansive shoreline of Lake Okanagan, leading to a sandy beach and picnic area, with a dog beach.

Rose Valley

Those seeking medium to moderate hiking adventures or extreme mountain biking can explore Rose Valley Regional Park.  Rose Valley is a 250 hectare park with panoramic views of Lake Okanagan, the Okanagan Valley and Rose Valley water reservoir.  One of the hiking lookout points has astonishingly beautiful views of both Lake Okanagan and Rose Valley Reservoir and if that isn’t enough, you will discover and observe wildlife in its natural habitat any season of the year.

Gellatly Nut Farm

The infamous Gellatly Nut Farm is a 4 acre working heritage nut farm. Take a stroll through the grounds, purchase fresh nuts and during the summer, catch a glimpse of one of the many fairy-tale weddings taking place in the park.  Next to the nut farm is a playground with picnic tables and a field big enough to play an interactive game of bocce ball with the family.

Beach walk/beaches

Just beyond the Gellatly Nut Farm and playground is a flat walking path that stretches over three kilometers, hugging the shoreline of Okanagan Lake along the way.  You’ll wander past three public beaches, the first, as a small playground with a swing set, ideal for younger children, the second excellent for playing in the sand or soaking up a game of volleyball.  The third beach, a family favorite, is the Gellatly Aquatic Park; home to a wharf, floating platform and zip line. Wander to the North of the aquatic park and watch the dogs swim and play in a well-groomed, fenced dog beach or enjoy a quick bite to eat in the picnic area, appreciating the stunning views of the lake.

Westside Wine Trail

The Westside has a prestigious wine trail, home to many of the most renown wineries in the Okanagan Valley, one of them being, Mission Hill.  Mission Hill Winery not only showcases award-winning wines, they also host a handful of talented musicians every summer in their outdoor amphitheatre.  Quails Gate Winery is another local favourite and is home to Old Vines Restaurant, one of the top rated restaurants in Canada.  Reserve a table at Old Vines and relish in a remarkable culinary experience and atmosphere, with stunning views of the vineyard and Okanagan Lake. The wine trail has three organic wineries, which are extremely unique in character. Kalala Estate Organic Winery creates minimally altered wines that boast character and flavour. The tasting room atmosphere at Beaumont Estate Organic Winery is enjoyable, lively, and welcoming. Off The Grid organic winery has a homestead feel with the tasting room constructed of repurposed sustainable material, making it an environmentally and eco-friendly winery.  The Westside is also home to Indigenous World Winery, a winery where modern culture and Indigenous history are blended together to create memorable wines to enjoy.  These are only six of thirteen wineries located on the Westside of Kelowna.  Each winery has its own unique personality and delicious flavourful wines for all to experience.
