The Westside has seven elementary schools, the reputable Shannon Lake Elementary is at the heart of the Shannon Lake community.  There are two middle schools, one in the Glenrosa area named, Glenrosa Middle School, as well as one called Constable Neil Bruce, which is closest to Shannon Lake.  There is one bustling high school named Mount Boucherie Secondary, located at the base of Mount Boucherie Mountain – which is also an excellent place to hike.  Westbank does not have a college or university; however, it is a quick thirty kilometers to the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus, and an even closer drive to the Okanagan College campus.

Shannon Lake is a 3.7 hectare regional park which engulfs the south part of Shannon Lake. Take a leisurely stroll through the park and soak up the beautiful scenic views of Shannon Lake, or enjoy a quick lunch in the picnic area.
