Westbank Centre Real Estate Information

Living in Westbank means you are generally within walking distance to the town center. The homes and neighbourhoods are family-friendly and tend to be more affordable than other areas of the Westside. Whether you are seeking a single family home, or a cozy condo to call home, Westbank has a variety of both. Plus,
you’re only a hop, skip and a jump to the local pool, Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre, as well as one of the local favourites, the Landmark Cinemas’ Encore theatre. A place where the whole family can experience the theatre for under twenty-five dollars. Westbank has also recently welcomed a Winners and Homesense, along with many other big-box stores such as Home Depot, Canadian Tire, and Value Village. The transit is simple to navigate and runs a steady schedule to accommodate secondary school or work in Kelowna. The
Westside has seen year-over-year growth, and is now home to over 30,000 people. One thing you will certainly notice about Westbank is that despite its steady growth, it remains the quaint community it is known for.

Westank Centre Beaches and Recreation

If you like the outdoors, Westbank will offer you breathtaking experiences. The infamous Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park is four acres of a working heritage nut farm. You can stroll the grounds, purchase fresh nuts, and during the summer, perhaps catch a glimpse of one of the many fairy-tale weddings taking place in the park. Next to the nut farm is a playground with plenty of picnic tables, and a field big enough to play an interactive game of bocce ball with multiple families. Beyond the playground is a flat walking path that stretches over three kilometers, hugging curves of Okanagan Lake along the way. You’ll wander past three public beaches. One perfect for younger kids, another excellent for playing in the sand, and then a favourite beach for teenagers, the Gellatly Aquatic Park which boasts a restored wharf with a floating platform and zip line. Animal lovers also love this area as there is a section of the beach that is fenced off as a dog beach. Those seeking medium to moderate hiking adventures or extreme mountain biking can explore Rose Valley Regional Park. A 250 hectare park with panoramic views of Okanagan Lake, the Okanagan Valley in both directions, and the Rose Valley water reservoir. At one point you can actually stand on a plateau and take in
views of both lakes at the same time. If that isn’t enough, you will discover and observe wildlife in its natural habitat at any time of the year. The Westside has its own wine trail that will not leave you disappointed. One of the most well-known and respected wineries in the world, Mission Hill, is located in Westbank. Mission Hill Winery not only showcases award-winning wines, but they host a handful of talented musicians every summer in their outdoor amphitheatre. The Westside is also home to Indigenous World Winery, a winery where modern culture and
Indigenous history are blended together to create memorable wines to sip your way through. These are only two of thirteen wineries located on the Westside of Kelowna. Each winery has its own unique personality and delicious flavours to experience.

Westbank Centre Neighbourhood Schools

The Westside has seven elementary schools, George Pringle Elementary being the closest to Westbank. It is also a French Immersion school for students in Kindergarten to Grade six. There are two middle schools, one in the Glenrosa area, as well as one called Constable Neil Bruce. Both middle schools are within five minutes from Westbank. There is one bustling high school named Mount Boucherie Secondary, located at the base of Mount Boucherie Mountain – which is also an excellent place to hike. Although Westbank does not have a college or university, it is a quick thirty kilometers to the University of British Columbia Okanagan campus, and an even closer drive to the Okanagan College campus.
